(an alien abduction patient explains what he remembers of the night he was supposedly abducted by aliens to a psychologist.)
I lead him into a white padded room since it was protocol. Alien abduction victims can be unpredictable sometimes. The young man cautiously lowers himself into the chair across the table from me. I lean back in my own chair, speaking first.
“So you were abducted by aliens” I inquire. The boy nodded. “Tell me how when and what happened.” I continued, getting straight to the point. Gregory Whitfield, as the name on his file read, cleared his throat and began his story. “It all started bout’ two days before Christmas. Me and my dad was down at bernie’s, just payin’ cards and havin’ a few drinks. It was getting late so we was heading home to hit the sack.” The memories seemed to flash back in his mind.
“ heat up the truck eh son?” My dad instructs me. I turn the knob. “I said heat son that’s A.C! What are ya? Drunk?
“Naa I only had a couple.” I reply. Almost instantly, my dad crashes in his seat. I drove in silence for a couple minutes. It was difficult to focus on the road with the rhythmic sound of pounding rain on the windshield and my dad snoring noisily.
“ I started to doze off dreaming about Christmas supper, turkey, potatoes, salad, and all the fixin’s. Nana even made an apple pie. It ain’t every day we got this kinda food, we wasn’t that rich so we only had it on special occasions.” The young man explained to me although I could tell by his thin jean jacket stretching over his shoulders, frayed at the sleeves.
Screech!!! Poof!!!
“ I slid off the road faster than a gofer slips into his hole!” Gregory exclaimed.
Cushioned by a blanket of snow, the truck came to a halt. My dad slept soundly in the passenger seat.
“ Better get me some help! I thought.”
I pried open the door and climbed out carefully, snow filled my boots and numbed my feet. I looked around curiously not quite knowing where I was.
“ I was north of Bernie’s” He seemed to remember. I jotted that down on my notebook. “ No south of Lioydy? Ohh I can’t remember! He said exasperated. I calmed him down.
I couldn’t decide so I trudged along the road.
“ It was maybe five minutes before I saw bright blinkin’ lights like multicolored fireflies around the corner of the driveway! The light grew brighter as I came closer. It was hurtin’ my eyes so I squinted at it! Then I heard a voice. I stopped right in my tracks and a small figure dressed completely in red was calling to me!”
“ What did it say to you?” I questioned him.
“ It said come in, and so I did”
I looked around at my surroundings. Behind the alien was a U.F.O. I could feel myself quivering from fright. A gust of icy wind knocked me off balance and I went crashing onto the hard ground. My back was hurting and I just wanted to run away but the figure was beckoning to me. I decided to go in or else I would probably die from pneumonia out here.
“Inside the house I was greeted by a warming towel and lead towards a stove, jest like the one at home. A Tiny cup of hot water was put into my hands. I didn’t know what to do with it so I drank a little bit and it warmed me up right to my toes! I thought is this a drug? There was a couple of aliens all wearin’ these funny lookin’ red clothes. They bumbled around me like busy little ants.”
I tipped the cup in an effort to spill it’s contents on the floor. I am not being drugged today I decided.
“ Dad’s in the truck” I blurted trying to distract attention away from the tea.
“Oh my God! Said the alien that brought me in to the U.F.O.
“ I’ll bring him back” Another alien said.
“ No!” I shouted, I didn’t want him to be abducted too! “He’s sleepin’. Truck’s warm.”
“ Then all of a sudden, a jumble of wires and plastic started beepin’ and whirrin’ and then a roll of paper turned. I felt uhhh dizzy and I started swayin’” Again I calmed him down.
An alien guided me to a stool. I continued to watch the paper curl onto their floor. An alien mentioned the idea of getting my father again.
“No!!!” I repeated. “He’s in the asleep eh? We was at bernies.”They looked at each other confused. “You know Bernie’s” I insisted. They looked unconvinced.
“I was confused. I felt lost.” The stranger said to me, and I jotted it down on my notebook. “One of the aliens gave me a strange looking object on a plate! It looked like bread but wit’ some strange thingys on top. Strange thingys that I’ve never seen before.”
“I crashed the truck in the ditch” I said
“Is there anyone we can phone for you? Do you Anita Tow?” the alien replied.
“Anita who? Can I use dat phone?” The smaller alien hurried away. Soon afterhe came back with an object in his hand. He handed it to me. It was clear so you could see all the wires in it.
“I punched my neighbors number on the phone since we ain’t have one but nobody answered. Neighbors….” He said distraught. “I tried that bready thingy that they gave me earlier. It tasted ...strange…” He told me unsure. “but I was so hungry I ate the whole thing.”
“Hey It’s almost Christmas you better save the moon for Kirdy Dickus!” The stranger told me what the alien said.
“Thank you Gregory your information is very useful.” I assured him and scribbled down what was to be the front page heading for the national enquirer’s reporters: Who or what is Kirdy Dickus and what does he want with our moon?
